Originally a graduate of Fashion, Gracie has utilised her training for the past 30 years designing and making for the entertainment, costume hire and speciality bridal wear industries, including vintage clothing adaptation work.

She had her first costume hire business in Sydney from 1992- 2010 winning numerous business awards including the business of the year 2005.

Her costume and wardrobe credits include workroom supervisor for the Sydney Paralympics Opening Ceremony 2000, and more recently the Arab Games opening and closing ceremonies in Doha, Qatar 2011.

Closer to home, she costumed the ANZ float for Auckland pride march 2014 & 2015 plus a number of corporate events in and around Auckland. Gracie has also presented at conferences both here and Malaysia.

With a Masters in Design in her pocket and a member of CTANZ and Textile Institute, Gracie has continued to balance her business interests with her rural lifestyle. She runs sewing workshops from her home studio, selling at the vintage textile fair and keeping up with costume requests through her hire business in the Clevedon Village.

With lots of stories and tacit knowledge to share, Gracie makes for an entertaining class experience.
